HILARY Duff has gone completely nude on the cover of Women's Health Body Issue.
The actress showed off a new tattoo as well.
In the accompanying interview, Hilary opened up about body image in Hollywood.
“I’m proud of my body. I’m proud that it’s produced three children for me. I’ve gotten to a place of being peaceful with the changes my body has gone through," she told the magazine.
Although she is proud, she got candid about how bodies are altered in Hollywood.
“I also want people to know a makeup artist was there putting glow all over my body and someone put me in the most flattering position," Hilary added.
The mother of three has done her most vulnerable photoshoot yet by posing nude.
Being eight months pregnant when she signed onto How I Met Your Father, Hilary had only four and a half months to fit into her wardrobe for Sophie.
She said it is hard for her to separate the idea of health from her appearance.
“Because of my career path, I can’t help but be like, ‘I am on camera and actresses are skinny," she said.
She struggled with a year-long eating disorder when she was only 17.
"It was horrifying," the 34-year-old told Women's Health.
Being in Hollywood, many celebrities care about their appearance, but having three children can take a toll on a woman's body.
Hilary is finally at peace with her body after many years in the spotlight.
She shared that after having Banks, her second child, was probably when she felt that peace.
“I didn’t even know if I was going to have the opportunity to have another child [after the divorce]. So, being a mom again, maybe."
"It was a whole mix of things—of being settled and realizing that I’m powerful and talented and smart. All mental things," The Younger actress got candid.
However, she was scared to do this shoot.
"So, this was scary….. I knew doing this would terrify me and I was right!" she captioned the post.
Hilary shared on Instagram, that despite being scared, she never felt more "strong and beautiful."
Along with baring it all, the Lizzie McGuire alum also debuted a new tattoo.
Looking at her from the front, you would never know that she has a bunch of tattoos, but she has over 20 small ones.
She covers them up for a lot of her roles, as they are mostly along the back of her arms, so they aren't seen much.
However, the most recent one she got is very special to her.
Hilary told Women's Health that she got a delicate etching of the word, "Mother," on her neck.
“I think at 34, I’ve just gained a lot of respect for my body. It’s taken me all the places I need to go, it’s helped me build a beautiful family," she said.
To prepare for the shoot, Hilary nabbed a trainer and started working out a lot.
Dominic Leeder would join her in her garage for hour-long workouts, four days a week.
They wanted to emphasize strength and stability to work on lean muscle mass.
Hilary did a lot of squats and other days she would focus on lat pulldowns and single-leg bent-over dumbbell rows, or tricep pushdowns with a stability ball skull crusher.
Hilary cut down the intensity of her workouts, but still follows her trainer's structure.
She has also focused on making sure her inside is just as healthy, so she started going to therapy.
Hilary has two daughter- Banks, three, and Mae, one, with her current husband, Matthew Koma.
She shares her son, Luca, 10, with her ex-husband, hockey player, Mike Comrie.
