Wembley stadium looks unrecognizable as it is transformed into amazing wrestling arena for AEW

WEMBLEY STADIUM looks completely unrecognizable.

That’s after being transformed into an amazing wrestling arena for AEW.

The star-studded company is making its London debut this weekend.

AEW — All Elite Wrestling — has gone from strength to strength after being created just five years ago.

And WWE’s main rival is now set for a first appearance across the Atlantic when it hosts a 10-match extravaganza at the home of English soccer on Sunday.

Wembley Stadium, situated in north-west London, has hosted plenty of memorable sporting and entertainment events.

The grass pitch at the heart of the arena is usually clear, allowing sports teams to compete against each other.

When musicians perform, it then becomes the centrepiece for crowds to watch the stage.

However, with AEW in town, Wembley is now looking very different indeed.

A picture posted online showed the famous turf had been completely covered over with gray tiling.

Meanwhile, a giant crane and numerous workers rushed about setting up the AEW ring right in the heart of the stadium.

It means some lucky fans will get to grace the hallowed turf itself, giving them a close-up-and-personal view of the action,

Sunday’s London event is sure to be a show-stopper, with the main bout seeing AEW World Champion MFJ against Adam Cole.

There will even be an appearance from legend Chris Jericho, who is fighting Will Ospreay.

And the rocker will even be played to the ring by his own bandmates from the group Fozzy.

Indeed, an incredible 80,000 tickets have been sold at Wembley, just 10k shy of its full capacity.

And all the PPV action kicks off at 1pm ET on Sunday August 27, with the pre-show starting at midday.
